With the upcoming start of a new academic year, the Alumni Association Board of Directors would like to thank Ruth Mikulak Katz ’82 for her service as president of the board this past year and welcome Shercole King ’04 as incoming president for the new term.
A graduate of the College of Business with many years of service on the Alumni Board, Katz is proud of the 2019-2020 Alumni Board’s creativity and inventiveness in keeping the alumni community connected during the pandemic. “I would like to thank our amazing board members for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to Loyola’s mission,” says Katz. “I also offer special gratitude to our committee chairs and my fellow board officers for their service through leadership, participation, and support.”
A business management major and loyal Loyola volunteer, incoming president King believes alumni volunteers play a key role in the life of the university. “Being a volunteer has allowed me to be a voice for Loyola, communicating to students, prospective students, and other alumni on the topics of diversity, community, and service.” Her volunteer experience guides her vision for the 2021-2022 Alumni Board, with key goals for the coming year being fostering stronger connections among alumni from all walks of life and providing more opportunities for alumni to partner in Loyola’s mission through service.
